DIGITAL PRODUCT MANAGER PRO
Getting Started
Understand how licensed products are being used with searchable activity, domain visibility, review flags and safe licence intelligence.
Licence Activity & Intelligence gives you a practical view of how DPM licences are being used across customer sites.
The activity journal records important licensing events together with the customer, product, domain, installed version, result and timestamp so you can investigate support issues, confirm expected behaviour and identify activity that deserves a closer look.
The intelligence layer is deliberately non-destructive. Review flags help a human investigate unusual activity, but DPM does not automatically disable or damage a customer's installation simply because an event looks suspicious.
1. Open Licence Activity
Go to Digital Products > Licence Activity.
The screen gives you an at-a-glance summary of recent licensing activity together with the full event journal below it. The summary cards make it easy to see recent activity, items marked for review and the number of domains represented in the journal.
The journal is designed for day-to-day support and licence administration rather than visitor analytics. DPM records licensing events, not customer browsing behaviour.

2. What DPM Records
Licence Activity can record events such as:
- Activation — a customer activates a licence on a site.
- Licence check — installed software validates its current licence state.
- Deactivation — an authorised activation is removed from a site.
- Update check — licensed software asks whether a newer version is available.
- Update download — an entitled customer retrieves a protected update package.
Each event is stored with the information needed to understand what happened, including the licence, customer, product, domain, version, result and time.
3. Understanding the Journal Columns
The activity table includes the following columns:
- Time — when the event occurred using the WordPress site timezone.
- Licence — the exact licence key involved when one is available.
- Customer — the customer email associated with the licence.
- Product — the licensed product involved in the event.
- Domain — the site where the action occurred.
- Event — activation, check, deactivation, update check or download.
- Version — the installed software version reported by the client.
- Result — whether the action succeeded or failed.
- Attention — whether DPM has marked the event for human review.
4. Customer, Licence and Product Links
Where DPM can identify the related records exactly, the journal provides direct navigation back to the relevant administration screens.
Valid licence keys can link to the matching licence record, and customer emails can link to that customer's access details. Review indicators can also link back to the exact licence when a reliable match exists.
DPM does not use fuzzy matching to attribute unknown or altered keys to an unrelated customer or licence. If an event cannot be matched safely, it remains unattributed rather than guessing.
5. Search and Filter Activity
Use the activity controls to narrow the journal to the information you need. This is particularly useful when investigating a customer support request or a specific domain.
You can filter the journal and then use Refresh to retrieve the latest events. The screen is designed so you can move quickly between recent activity and more focused investigation without leaving DPM.
6. Review Flags and Licence Intelligence
DPM can mark certain licensing events with a Review indicator when the activity deserves human attention.
Examples can include failed or invalid licence attempts, use of a revoked key, activation-limit issues or a mismatch between the expected licence state and the request being made.
A Review flag is informational. It does not automatically revoke the licence, disable installed software or remove customer access. The purpose is to give you better evidence before you decide whether any administrative action is appropriate.
7. Domain Visibility
Domain information is intentionally visible in the journal because it can be important when checking activation limits, investigating support requests or reviewing possible unauthorised use.
DPM's licence intelligence is focused on software licensing. It does not record page content, visitor activity, WordPress usernames or unrelated filesystem information.
8. Pagination and Journal Size
The Licence Activity screen shows 50 events per page so large journals remain manageable.
Pagination controls let you move through older activity without loading the entire journal at once. DPM keeps the latest 5,000 activity events so the journal remains useful without growing indefinitely.
9. Bulk Delete Activity
Each journal row includes a checkbox, together with a Select All control and a Bulk actions menu.
Choose Delete selected to remove selected journal events after confirmation. This deletes only the selected activity records. It does not delete the licence, customer, product, activation or customer access record connected to those events.
Bulk deletion is useful for housekeeping after testing or when you no longer need older diagnostic entries.
10. Licence Status vs Activity History
The activity journal is a record of licensing events. It is separate from the current state of the licence itself.
For example, deleting an old failed activation event does not reactivate or revoke a licence. Likewise, revoking a licence does not erase its previous activity history unless you explicitly remove those journal entries.
Use the Licences screen to manage the current licence state. Use Licence Activity to understand what has happened around that licence over time.
11. Safe Licence Management
DPM's licensing model is intentionally conservative. Expired or revoked licences can block future activations, updates and entitlement without remotely deleting or crippling software already installed on a customer's site.
Licence intelligence follows the same principle: it provides visibility and evidence without turning automated suspicion into destructive action.
You're Ready
Use Licence Activity whenever you need to investigate activation problems, confirm update delivery, review a domain or understand how a particular licence has been used.
For WordPress plugins and themes, combine the journal with Automatic WordPress Licensing and the Licences screen to manage the full customer licensing lifecycle.
