CHAPTER ONE / WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

MUSIC.

Music was my first creative language. From suburban garages and record deals
to touring, independent releases, music videos and collaborations, every
chapter taught me something about rhythm, identity and connecting with an audience.

KRYPTONICS.

FROM GARAGE BAND TO RECORD DEAL

At sixteen, I helped form my first band The Kryptonics who were literally a garage band rehearsing in a stinky suburban shed that we converted into a band room with makeshift noise "soundproofing"  from old mattresses and egg cartons. We suddenly started getting live shows and bigger international supports. The momentum led to a record deal with Cherry Top Records and the 1985 single Plastic Imitation / Baby with a music video.

RECORDING. TOURING. MAKING NOISE.

A fast-moving chapter of national touring, major support bills, radio attention and releases including Snuff, Born Killer and Rarer Than Rockinghorse Shit. The band also reached USA college charts.
Months of gruelling non-stop national touring on the road playing with local and international bands like The Johnnys, The Hoodoo Gurus, Johnny Thunders, The Damned, Violent Femmes, Huxton Creepers, The Cramps, just to name a few!

Three albums: Doggie Style, Chasin' Pussy & The Last Leg, plus 2 music videos and inclusions on 6 international compilations led to becoming an internationally recognisable band built from the ground up. This chapter also led directly to SexBeat Records and the Skunk & Disorderly compilation.

WHAT MUSIC TAUGHT ME

GREAT CREATIVE WORK HAS RHYTHM. IT KNOWS WHEN TO MAKE NOISE,
WHEN TO LEAVE SPACE AND WHEN TO GET STRAIGHT TO THE POINT.

NEXT CHAPTER: FILM & TELEVISION.

CHAPTER TWO THE FRAME BEGINS TO MOVE

FILM &
TELEVISION.

Music taught me how to perform. Film taught me how everything works together.

Moving into film and television opened a completely different creative world: major productions, large crews, practical problem-solving and the pressure of getting every detail right before the camera rolled.

My work ranged from action vehicles and stunt riding to set construction and performance, across Australian and international productions.

FROM THE GARAGE TO THE BACKLOT

CARS. STUNTS.
CAMERAS. ACTION.

Film sets demanded the same instincts I had learned through music: preparation, timing, teamwork and staying calm when the pressure was on.

The difference was scale. Hundreds of people could be working toward a single moment that might appear on screen for only a few seconds.

EVERY MOVING PART HAD TO ARRIVE AT EXACTLY THE RIGHT MOMENT.

WHAT FILM TAUGHT ME

THE DETAILS
ARE THE STORY.

01 PREPARATION

Nothing successful happens by accident.

02 COLLABORATION

Every department contributes to the final frame.

03 PROBLEM-SOLVING

When conditions change, the work still has to happen.

04 DETAIL

Audiences may not see every decision, but they feel the result.

FILM TAUGHT ME THAT THE BEST CREATIVE WORK IS BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND BOTH THE BIG PICTURE AND THE SMALLEST DETAIL.
NEXT CHAPTER WEB DESIGN

CHAPTER THREE THE STORY COMES FULL CIRCLE

WEB
DESIGN.

EVERYTHING FINALLY CAME TOGETHER.

Music taught me how to connect with an audience. Film taught me how to solve problems under pressure. Web design became the place where those skills finally met.

I began designing websites in Sydney in 1998, long before WordPress and drag-and-drop builders existed. Every project was handcrafted, every solution built from scratch, and every client taught me something new about communication.

Then came Barcelona. Living there from 2007–2012 completely changed my creative outlook. The architecture, typography, colour and confidence of European design reshaped the way I approached both creativity and business. It was during those years that the name Delicious Design was born.

Today I’m back home in Perth, bringing together more than twenty-five years of design experience with everything I learned from music, film and life. Every website is still designed one at a time, by one person, with the same excitement I felt when I built my first site.
