Clear planning.
One fixed quote. No surprises.
Every successful website begins with a well-defined plan. Before design or development starts, we map out your goals, page structure, functionality, content requirements and priorities. You'll receive a clearly defined scope, realistic timeframe and a fixed quotation, so you know exactly what is included before work begins.
02 CLEAR SCOPE. HONEST ADVICE. NO SURPRISES.
PLAN WITH
CLARITY.
CONFIDENCE.
Good planning creates confident decisions before a single page is designed.
We take the time to understand your objectives, target audience, required pages, features and content. By agreeing on these details first, the project starts with clear direction instead of assumptions.
The result is a documented project scope, practical recommendations and a fixed quotation that clearly outlines inclusions, exclusions, costs and next steps. That clarity helps prevent scope creep, unexpected costs and unnecessary delays.
UNDERSTAND
YOUR BUSINESS
Before recommending pages or features, I take the time to understand your business, your customers and what a successful result should look like.
DEFINE THE
RIGHT SCOPE
The pages, content requirements and functionality are mapped out in advance, helping prevent confusion, unnecessary additions and costly changes later.
FIXED PRICE.
CLEAR EXPECTATIONS.
Once the scope is agreed, you receive a fixed quotation outlining what is included, the expected timeframe and the next steps required to begin.
03 WHAT WE PLAN TOGETHER
EVERYTHING DEFINED
BEFORE WORK
BEGINS.
A reliable quotation begins with a properly considered project scope.
We look at the goals, page structure, content, functionality, technical requirements and practical responsibilities involved in delivering the finished website.
The goal is to remove ambiguity. You receive a proposal based on what the project genuinely requires, without vague allowances, inflated extras or an open-ended hourly estimate.
BUSINESS
GOALS
We define what the website needs to achieve, who it needs to reach and which actions should matter most once visitors arrive.
SITE
STRUCTURE
The required pages and their purpose are mapped out so the project has a logical structure before content and design work begins.
CONTENT
REQUIREMENTS
We identify what copy, photography, logos, downloads and other material are needed, who will supply them and where assistance may be useful.
FUNCTIONALITY &
INTEGRATIONS
Forms, bookings, payments, memberships, galleries and third-party tools are discussed early so they can be scoped accurately.
TIMEFRAME &
RESPONSIBILITIES
A realistic schedule is agreed alongside the information, feedback and approvals required from both sides to keep the project moving.
FIXED
QUOTATION
The final proposal clearly explains the agreed scope, inclusions, cost and next steps, giving you confidence before committing.
04 FROM EARLY IDEAS TO A CLEAR PROJECT PLAN
CLEARLY DEFINED.
HONESTLY ADVISED.
FIXED BEFORE WE BEGIN.
The smoothest website projects begin with clear decisions made before design and development start.
Scope, content, functionality, timing and responsibilities are considered together. Nothing important is left vague, and nothing unnecessary is included simply to make the proposal look larger.
STARTING WITH THE RIGHT QUESTIONS
FIRST, WE DEFINE
WHAT THE PROJECT
NEEDS TO ACHIEVE.
A useful proposal starts with a proper conversation rather than a guessed price.
I learn about your business, your audience, your existing website and the result you want the new project to deliver. We discuss what visitors need to know, what actions matter and which ideas are essential.
This helps separate genuine requirements from optional ideas and gives the project a clear direction before any scope or cost is finalised.
TURNING IDEAS INTO A PRACTICAL PLAN
THE RIGHT PAGES.
THE RIGHT FEATURES.
NOTHING VAGUE.
The goal is to define what the website genuinely needs, not to sell you every possible feature.
We map the required pages, content responsibilities, functionality, integrations and technical considerations. Each inclusion should have a clear reason for being part of the project.
Where a simpler or more cost-effective approach will achieve the same goal, I will say so. Honest advice is more useful than padding the scope.
A FIXED QUOTE WITH CLEAR EXPECTATIONS
CLEARLY WRITTEN.
FAIRLY PRICED.
READY TO APPROVE.
A quotation is only useful when you can understand what it covers.
Your proposal sets out the agreed scope, project cost, expected timeframe and any important assumptions or client responsibilities. Questions can be resolved before the project begins.
Once approved, the quote becomes the shared roadmap for the work ahead. Changes can still be discussed, but the original project remains clear and protected from surprise costs.
05 PLANNED WITH PURPOSE
CLEAR SCOPE.
REAL OUTCOMES.
NO GUESSWORK.
Different businesses require different project plans.
The right scope depends on the audience, content, functionality and commercial goals involved. A useful proposal reflects those differences rather than forcing every client into the same package.
Here are three examples of projects that began with a clear understanding of what each business needed and were then designed around that agreed direction.
06 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
CLEAR SCOPE.
FIXED PRICE.
NO SURPRISES.
Planning a website should create confidence, not uncertainty.
These are some of the questions clients commonly ask about scope, pricing and what happens before a website project begins.
01 WHY DO YOU PROVIDE A FIXED QUOTE?
A fixed quotation gives both of us a clear, shared understanding of the work before it begins. It defines the agreed inclusions and protects you from an open-ended hourly bill. The price is based on the actual scope of your project rather than a generic website package.
02 WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT SCOPE?
The scope identifies the required pages, functionality, integrations, content responsibilities, design and development work, testing and launch requirements. Your proposal explains the inclusions clearly so you can see exactly what the quotation covers.
03 CAN THE SCOPE CHANGE AFTER I RECEIVE THE QUOTE?
Yes. The scope can be adjusted before approval, and later changes can also be discussed. Small refinements may fit within the existing project, while substantial additions are quoted separately so you remain in control of the cost.
04 WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE A QUOTE?
A useful starting point is an overview of your business, your goals, the pages or features you think you need, examples you like and any existing content or website information. You do not need to have every detail resolved before we speak.
05 DO I NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I WANT?
No. Part of my role is to help turn broad ideas into a practical scope. I will explain the options, recommend what is useful and identify where a simpler solution may achieve the same result.
06 ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN OR SURPRISE COSTS?
No hidden costs are added to the agreed work. The quotation outlines the project inclusions and any known third-party expenses, such as premium software or external services. Additional work is discussed and approved before it is carried out.
07 DO YOU CHARGE FOR THE INITIAL DISCUSSION?
No. The initial conversation and the preparation of a standard project quotation are part of establishing whether we are a good fit. More extensive paid discovery may only be recommended for unusually complex projects requiring separate research or technical planning.
08 WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPROVE THE QUOTE?
Once the quotation is approved, we confirm the start arrangements, timeframe, content requirements and any deposit details. The agreed scope then becomes the roadmap for the design and development stages.
